Food Poisoning Outbreak at Lunzu Secondary School Sends Over 70Students to Mulambe Hospital

In distressing turn of events, more than 70students from Lunzu Secondary School in Blantyre have been rushed to Mlambe hospital to what is suppected to be food poisoning. 


The incident unfolded earlier today when students began exhibiting symptoms of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and dizness shortly after consuming porridge provided as part of their meal. 

The affected Students are currently receiving medical treatment at Mlambe Hospital. Their condition vary, with some in stable condition while others require more intensive care,confirmed one of the hospital staff who asked for anonymity.

  1. Reports from same quarters indicate that a similar incident happened at the same school some years back, this calls for a thorough investigation to be conducted by the Ministry of Education to establish the root cause of this.
