In distressing turn of events, more than 70students from Lunzu Secondary School in Blantyre have been rushed to Mlambe hospital to what is suppected to be food poisoning.  The incident unfolded earlier today when students began exhibiting symptoms of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and dizness shortly after consuming porridge provided as part of their meal.  The affected Students  are currently receiving medical treatment at Mlambe Hospital. Their condition vary, with some in stable condition while others require more intensive care,confirmed one of the hospital staff who asked for anonymity. 

Residents living near Kasungu National Park have expressed  concerns over their livelihoods and safety as elephants venture beyond park boundaries, devastating vital crops and tragically, claiming two lives in the process. "we do not have food because we did not harvest any due to the elephants. Our houses have been demolished by them in searching for food that we kept. We are appealing to the government for urgent action". The victims narrated. In a shocking display of elder abuse, an 89-year old man of Kasamba village in the area of senior chief Symon in Neno district, was brutally attacked and forcibly expelled from his village after being accused of witchcraft following the tragic demise of his grandson. here Picture by zodiak online  The victim identified as Binwell Chabwera narrated the following to his fellow elders at Mai Mbambande Foundation, “my grandson was a businessman he used to burn charcoal for sale, on the day he met his fate, he went to the forest to cut tree then a branch of tree which he was cutting fell on his eyes and he was badly injured. His siblings took him to the hospital without notifying me. They accused me of sending the branch of tree mysteriously. Malawi police  has expressed concern over the allegations that are made about street kids popularly known as Namasikini in the city of Blantyre  Speaking to Television Islam presenter Yassin Limu on Mwaweluka bwanji program, Blantyre police public relations officer, Sub Inspector Peter Mchiza said that these accusations are mostly made by high profile people. According to the officer, these men upon reaching drinking places, they find a sex worker to satisfy their sexual desire. For fear of being seen in lodges they opt to do sex in the cars where they are attacked.  He further adds that upon reaching their homes they dont explain to their wives exactly what had happened, instead they said that they have been attacked by Namasikini (street kids) while slowing down the car at a hump.
